Election Results

Following are the recent results of the National Association of Purchasing Management Metro Detroit, Inc.

Officer Elections  for 2007/2008

Harry Nowell III, C.P.M.  was elected to President and Chairman of the Board, from Vice-President.  (2007/2008)
As President and Chairman of the Board of NAPM Metro Detroit, Rick is responsible for the overall operations of the affiliate.

Katia Moraes, C.P.M. was elected to Vice-President, from Secretary / Treasurer.  (2007/2008) 

Philip Rosenfeld, C.P.M.  was elected to Secretary / Treasurer.   (2006/2007)

Melissa Countryman  was elected to a 3-year term as Director.  (2007/2010)

Tiffany Witek   was elected to a 3-year term as Director.  (2007/2010)

ByLaw Changes passed.

Attached is the latest update to the Bylaws 
The changes "to date" appear in RED and are summarized as follows:

  • Pages 3, 4 now lists us as a 501(c)(6) in compliance with ISM requirements;
  • page 6  contains a proposed new voting policy for direct recruits from ISM;
  • Page 7 changes the Fiscal Year from July 1 to June 30 to  January 1 and ending December 31 each year;
  • Page 10 states the election of Directors can range from "6 to 9", instead of stating "6";
  • Pages 13 & 14 contain a new Conflict of Interest Policy, as recommended by our Financial Auditor, Plante Moran. 

The mission of NAPM Metro Detroit is to serve our members as an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management by providing superior opportunities for education, networking, and career enhancement as a means of advancing and promoting the leading edge practices and profession of Purchasing and Supply Management.

NAPM Metro Detroit (NAPM-MD) is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit affiliate (04-170) of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) (formerly the National Association of Purchasing Management, Inc.) , Headquartered in Tempe, AZ.

Our local affiliate in Metro-Detroit has approximately 600 members. Founded in 1915, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is one of the most respected educational associations in the United States. ISM is a communication link with more than 48,000 purchasing and supply management professionals. Membership requirements are simple. Anyone whose primary responsibilities are in procurement, logistics, supply chain or materials management is a candidate. The most
important requirement is a thirst for knowledge, continuous improvement, and ongoing professional development.
